Our Story

It all started in 1992 with a small vegetable garden and a roadside table.

In the early days, the Turner family farm and house were busy places, as Craig and Sherri were both working full time jobs, raising a young family and spending their remaining hours in their growing vegetable field, tending to tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, squash and pumpkins.

Once the roadside stand was established, Sherri’s parents, Joanne and Wayne, would help replenish the table during work and school days, as a local clientele began to develop.  During the summer months, it was all hands on deck.  The entire family would pitch in and help plant, maintain, cultivate and sell their produce.  The small table began to expand and soon became an outdoor market at the farm.

Saturday mornings in the summer of 1998, the Turner family began bringing their produce into Ingersoll and established a booth with the seasonal outdoor Ingersoll Kiwanis Farm Market.  They proudly continue to be a key vendor every June through October, as they have for the last 22 years.

In 2002, they made the leap and decided to focus all of their efforts on their expanding market.  With the help of Sherri’s dad, Wayne, they renovated the barn on their property, creating the beautiful indoor market space that we continue to use today.  Wayne’s craftmanship can still be seen and felt in every corner.

Our greenhouse was established with the guidance and support of George and Lorna Roberts of Ruchurst Farm, north of Embro. Their vast horticultural knowledge, and the generosity to share that wisdom created the foundation for season after season of plants and flowers that are nurtured with tender loving care.

Over the years, the Turner family has grown along with their business, now with beautiful grandchildren making the occasional appearance around the farm.  The fields have grown as well, with new crop varieties being added every season.  With the help of their family the market has continued to develop.  They continue to learn along the way, and to cultivate well tended relationships with so many amazing growers and producers across Ontario and beyond.

In addition to the home market and our seasonal (summer) booth at the Ingersoll Kiwanis market, you can also find us every weekend, year round, at our booth at The Market at Western Fair District in London.  Sherri and Craig also contribute to various fundraising programs, including a monthly food box program designed to support lower-income families in London.

Thank you to all of our customers and our community, who continue to support us on our journey, and have helped us grow and thrive.  We can’t wait to begin a fantastic season in 2021.
